A 24-hour control room of the Animal Welfare Department has been set up at Churalmala for the animals, including cattle, stranded in the Wayanad landslides. Currently, the animals are provided with food, water etc. through NGOs and volunteers. Pets and birds found alive or dead in disaster-affected areas will be taken to the control room and further action will be taken. Veterinary doctors and field officers work in two batches in the control room.
Steps were taken to retrieve documents lost in the Mundakai Churalmala landslide disaster.
