A tele-counseling system has been launched under the leadership of the Department of Psychology at the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR) to provide mental health support to victims of natural calamities. Counselors are appointed to provide psychological support to Wayanad landslide survivors in relief camps. Candidates with an MSc in Psychology, an MA in Psychology, or an MSW in Medical/Psychiatry can apply. Electricity will be provided free of charge for six months to 1,139 consumers served by KSEB’s Churalmala Exchange, Churalmala Tower, Mundakai, KK Nair, Ambedkar Colony, Attamala, and Attamala Pump transformers in the disaster-affected areas of Meppadi Panchayat's Wards 10, 11, and 12. Existing dues will also be waived.

A 24-hour control room of the Animal Welfare Department has been set up at Churalmala for the animals, including cattle, stranded in the Wayanad landslides. Currently, the animals are provided with food, water etc. through NGOs and volunteers. Pets and birds found alive or dead in disaster-affected areas will be taken to the control room and further action will be taken. Veterinary doctors and field officers work in two batches in the control room.
