  Agasthyarkoodam Trekking from January 14 to February 11.

The Agasthyarkoodam trekking season will be held from January 14 to February 11. The trekking fee is ₹3,000 per person, which includes a trekking charge of ₹2,420 and an ecosystem management special fee of ₹580. Participants must produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner (modern medicine) within seven days prior to the trek.

Online booking will be conducted in two phases. Bookings for treks scheduled from January 14 to 31 will open in the first week of January, while bookings for treks from February 1 to 11 will open in the last days of the third week of January.

  NORKA ROOTS Santhwana Adalat on January 8 in Alappuzha.

An Adalat under the State Government’s Santhwana financial assistance scheme, implemented through NORKA ROOTS for returned pravasis with an annual income below ₹1.5 lakh, will be held in Alappuzha on January 8, 2026.

The Adalat is open to eligible applicants from Kuttanad, Ambalappuzha and Cherthala taluks. It will be conducted at the Collectorate Conference Hall from 10 am to 3 pm. Participation is restricted to those who register in advance.

  State Ksheera Sangamam Padavu 2026 from January 18 in Kollam.

The state-level dairy farmers’ meet, Ksheera Sangamam ‘Padavu 2026’, will be held in Kollam from January 18 to 21. The four-day event will take place at the Kollam Ashram Ground and will feature exhibitions showcasing achievements in the dairy sector, along with expert-led seminars and technical sessions.

  Deworming Pills to Be Distributed on January 6.

As part of the observance of January 6 as Deworming Day, deworming tablets (Albendazole) will be distributed to children aged 1 to 19 years in Thiruvananthapuram district. The distribution will be carried out through government, semi-government and private schools, as well as Anganwadis.

Children who do not attend school on that day will receive the tablets from Anganwadis. Those who are unable to take the tablets on January 6 for any reason will be provided the medicine on January 12.
