'Pursuit of Happiness’ Project Helps Turn Education Dreams into Reality
The Idukki district administration has launched the 'Pursuit of Happiness' scheme to support students who have performed well in their Class 10 and Plus Two examinations but are unable to pursue higher education due to financial constraints. This project offers these deserving students the opportunity to choose courses of their interest and continue their academic journey without the burden of financial hardship. The core objective is to ensure that no student’s educational aspirations are hindered by lack of funds.
Students in need of assistance can apply through the official website idukki.nic.in. Each application will undergo a thorough eligibility verification process conducted by the respective village officers. Based on their reports, the District Collector will make the final selection of beneficiaries. The scheme follows a transparent and efficient process to ensure that help reaches the most deserving candidates.
Individuals who wish to contribute to this noble cause can also apply via the same website. The district administration will reach out to those who express interest in becoming sponsors. Selected sponsors are required to submit a consent form either directly to the District Collector or through the official email. The coordination between sponsors and students will be managed under the direct supervision of the Collector.
Once a student is matched with a sponsor, the district administration will contact the head of the institution offering the student’s chosen course. Sponsors will then be informed of relevant details, including course fees. A joint bank account will be opened in the names of the Collector, sponsor, head of the institution, and student to ensure full transparency in the disbursal of funds. The sponsorship amount will be transferred through this account, ensuring accountability at every step.
More than just a welfare scheme, 'Pursuit of Happiness' is a mission to spark hope and open doors to a brighter future for students across Idukki.
