Animal Surgery: Mobile Veterinary Unit Set Up in Alappuzha

The Mobile Veterinary Surgery Unit, established by the Animal Husbandry Department to ensure efficient treatment of domestic animals, has commenced operations in the Alappuzha district. The services of the Mobile Veterinary Surgery Unit are currently available at the District Veterinary Centre under the District Panchayat and five selected institutions.The vehicle is equipped with two doctors, a driver-cum-attendant, surgical equipment, and other essential facilities. The project is being implemented as part of the Rebuild Kerala initiative. It operates from 10 AM to 5 PM, except on Sundays. The service schedule is as follows: Monday – Chengannur Veterinary Polyclinic, Tuesday – Mavelikkara Veterinary Polyclinic, Wednesday – Ambalappuzha Veterinary Hospital, Thursday – Panavally Veterinary Dispensary, Friday – Alappuzha District Veterinary Hospital, Saturday – Mankombu Veterinary Polyclinic.Surgeries, including sterilization, will be carried out on pets at government-approved rates upon prior intimation.
