Women tourists visiting Munnar will now have safe accommodation; Idukki's first 'She Lodge' ready

The construction of the first 'She Lodge' in Idukki district has been completed to provide safe accommodation at low cost to female tourists visiting Munnar. This lodge, built exclusively for women under the leadership of Pallivasal Panchayat, marks a great step forward in the tourism sector of the district.This exemplary project was realised near the Pallivasal Panchayat office in Second Mile. The construction of the lodge was completed at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore from the Panchayat's own project allocation. It is also unique in that it is the first 'She Lodge' in the state to be built on the initiative of a local self-government body.The construction of the 'She Lodge', which began in March 2022, has resulted in modern facilities such as eight rooms, a dormitory that can accommodate 16 people, a restaurant, and a kitchen. The building is designed to face the tea plantations of the 2nd Mile Chithirapuram area, so that the natural beauty of Munnar can be fully enjoyed.Ensuring the safety and comfort of women tourists, this will be a great asset to Kerala's tourism sector, especially in Munnar.
