Parappa Block ranks first in NITI Aayog Aspirational Block Programme

NITI Aayog aspirational block program december 2023 (Quarter) ranking parappa block panchayath ranked 1st at the South Zone level. Out of 64 blocks across the southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, Parappa Block emerged as the top performer.The Aspirational block programme focuses on driving progress in 39 key indicators across five major sectors: health and nutrition, education, agriculture and allied activities, infrastructure, and social development. Parappa Block's top ranking reflects its outstanding performance and advancements in these critical areas.The success of Parappa Block in the NITI aayog aspirational block programme is attributed to the significant contributions from Kinanur, Karinthalam, Panathadi, Kallar, Kotom, Belur, East Elleri, and West Elleri Gram Panchayats. As part of the Aspirational Block Programme, the Sampurnatha Abhiyan is currently being implemented in these panchayats. The Parappa Block Panchayat is actively executing various projects aimed at holistic development. These include Beneficiary Registration, Sampurnatha Mela cultural programs, and the ABCD Program, among other initiatives. The health department is conducting diabetes and hypertension lifestyle assessment camps in collaboration with gram panchayats. The agriculture department is organizing soil testing camps for the distribution of soil health cards. Kudumbashree is leading efforts to distribute revolving funds to self-help groups, while the ICDS is overseeing the distribution of nutrition to pregnant women. These activities collectively support the program’s objectives and contribute to its success.
