Kannur has made significant strides in the Kerala Brand Project, an initiative by the Department of Industry and Commerce aimed at promoting quality products within the state. Two institutions from Kannur district have recently been granted Kerala Brand Certification. For the first time, Sahakari Integrated Coconut Processing Plant, associated with Ancharakandi Farmers Service Co-operative Bank Limited, and KM Oil Industries, located in Meenpeti, Thaliparamba, have been awarded this prestigious certification for their coconut oil products. This recognition marks a notable achievement as these are among the initial six companies in the state to receive the Kerala Brand recognition. The Kerala Brand certification is awarded based on rigorous quality and production standards. Initially introduced for coconut oil, the Kerala Brand has since expanded to encompass 14 other products, reflecting the state’s commitment to high-quality production and marketing.
